Born in Sydney, Australia, John graduated from the National Art School East Sydney in 1968.

John taught art and lectured in a number of institutions both in Australia and the U.S. His resumé includes more than 30 solo and mixed art shows along with several large murals in Papua, New Guinea and Arizona. His work is in collections worldwide.
